I do not weep very often but I wept to hear Jim's rendition. It is wonderful that he has campaigned for peace all these years. As a fellow member of Veterans For Peace, I respect your tenacity, why doesn't Cameron set an example and join the reserves he flies the flags for. The country wont miss him while he invades Iraq. 14th June, 32 anniversary of the liberation of the Falklands, who remembered that.veterannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-605625879464789847.post-48890345078787937532014-06-14T01:20:20.070-07:002014-06-14T01:20:20.070-07:00so true about service being hijackedso true about service being hijackedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-605625879464789847.post-42908001548157645592014-06-07T05:04:20.291-07:002014-06-07T05:04:20.291-07:00Truly wonderful emotions. The two Yorkshiremen on stage at the Albert Hall last night stole the show. Patrick Stewart reading the words of Winston Churchill and Jim Radford who got the standing ovation for his song "The Shores of Normandy". It was a very good evening, although Jim still couldn't get served at the bar in the Albert Hall after the concert (not the staff's fault - they were rushed off their feet as Theatre bar staff always are). Fortunately an appreciative member of the audience who was already being served bought him a whisky so he didn't have to go without. He said he'd be happy to do the eightieth anniversary concert in ten years time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
