Britain said "Happy Birthday" to Peter Noone and old men remembered 'Herman's Hermits' and that simpler world of the 1960's

I'd forgotten about Peter Noone until I read that he was 63 years old on the 5th of November.
Wikepedia says that he is : an English singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and actor, best known as 'Herman' of the 1960's rock group 'Herman's Hermits'.

Things you didn't know about Peter, that he :

* went to a grammar school near Manchester and studied 'voice and drama' at St Bede's College and Manchester School of Music, where he won the 'Outstanding Young Musician Award'.

* at the age of 15, he became the lead singer, spokesman, and frontman of 'Herman's Hermits' and appeared on the cover of 'Time Magazine'.

In 1965, when Peter and I were 18 years old :

Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter,
Girls as sharp as her are somethin' rare.
But it's sad, she doesn't love me now,
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine.

She wants to return those things I bought her,
Tell her she can keep them just the same.
Things have changed, she doesn't love me now,
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine.

Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well,
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud.

If she finds that I've been round to see you,
Tell her that I'm well and feelin' fine, feelin' fine.
Don't let on, don't say she's broke my heart,
I'd go down on my knees but it's no good to pine.

Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter .....

I did know that it was originally sung by actor Sir Tom Courtenay in 'The Lads', a British TV play, which I saw on black and white tv in 1963.
