Britain is a country where old men can revisit the world of their youth through British Pathé News

I remember seeing Pathé News at the cinema when I was a boy. It was wedged between the 'B' film and the main feature. What I didn't know was that :

* the company was formed in the 1890's in Paris as the 'Société Pathé Frères' by Charles Pathé who pioneered the development of the moving image and adopted the cockerel, the national emblem of France as its trademark.

* British Pathé was set up London in 1902 and newsreels produced from 1910 until the 1970's and 40 years later in 2010, launched its archive of 90,000 reels free online.
